Paúl Loja Prado is a flutist and music educator with experience in performance, teaching, and arts administration. Originally from Ecuador, he has been pursuing his graduate studies in the United States, earning awards in music.

He worked as an Administrative Assistant at the Omaha Conservatory of Music, contributing to program development, stage management, and community engagement. He also served as an Operations Manager Assistant at the University of Nebraska–Omaha School of Music, managing performances, coordinating ensemble logistics, and overseeing scheduling for orchestras and guest artists.

As a performer, Paúl is the flutist for the Red Rock Wind Quintet in Las Vegas, presenting educational concerts for elementary and high school students in collaboration with The
Smith Center for the Performing Arts. He was the Principal Flute with the 2023 Opera Maya Orchestra Tour in Mexico and the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Ecuador in 2018.
Additionally, he was the substitute flutist with the Cuenca Professional Symphony Orchestra and the National Woodwind Ensemble.

As an educator, Paúl is a part-time instructor at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). He previously served as a Professor of Flute at the National Conservatory of Music in Cuenca, Ecuador, and as a Music Instructor at the Institute of Languages – University of Cuenca. His performance career across Ecuador includes the Cuenca Professional
Symphony Orchestra, the Youth Orchestra of Ecuador, and the Chamber Music Ensemble of the University of Cuenca Department of Culture.

Paúl has received multiple awards, including First Prize in the Instrumental Solo Competition at the 2021 Charleston International Music Competition (South Carolina) and the Silver Star in the Winds Professional – Flute category at the Music and Stars Awards. In 2013, he was honored with a Performance and Certificate of Recognition as Master Flutist at the 23rd International Flute Festival “Mitad del Mundo” in Quito, Ecuador.

He has performed in masterclasses for renowned flutists such as Aleksandr Haskin (Chicago Flute Club), Brook Ferguson (New Jersey Flute Society), Joidy Blanco (Puerto Rico Flute Symposium), Stephen Clark (Wisconsin Flute Festival), and Carol Wincenc, during her 50th Golden Anniversary Season Masterclass in 2020. Additionally, he has participated in several flute festivals, performing for Michel Bellavance, Angelita Floyd, Jill Felber, Katherine Kemler, Rogerio Zerlotti Wolf, Rebecca Johnson, and Martha Councell-Vargas.

Paúl is pursuing an Artist Diploma in Flute Performance at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). He earned a Master of Music in Flute Performance from the University of
Nebraska at Omaha; he previously attended Texas Tech University, the University of Cuenca, and the National Conservatory of Music in Ecuador.

Fluent in Spanish and English, Paúl brings a dynamic and multicultural perspective to his work as a performer, educator, and arts advocate.
