Principal

Born in Salt Lake City, Utah and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, bassoonist Corbin Krebs is the newly appointed Principal Bassoonist of the Las Vegas Philharmonic. Prior to joining the Las Vegas Philharmonic, he has performed with orchestras from across the country, including the Louisville Orchestra, West Virginia Symphony, Evansville Philharmonic, Opera San Antonio, and the Canton Symphony. In 2015 and 2016, he served as principal bassoonist of the National Youth Orchestra USA, where he toured Europe and China under the batons of Charles Dutoit, Christoph Eschenbach, and Valery Gergiev. With a strong passion for chamber music, Corbin won the bronze medal at the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition in 2019 with the Cleveland-based wind quintet, Catharsis Winds, and currently plays with the Houston-based Kodan Quintet.

Corbin has earned degrees from the Interlochen Arts Academy (H.S.), Cleveland Institute of Music (B.M.), and Rice University (M.M), where he studied with Dr. Eric Stomberg, Barrick Stees, and Benjamin Kamins, respectively. In his free time, he enjoys rock climbing, spending time with his family and cats, and playing the banjo.
