Chris Davis

Assistant Principal

Christopher Davis is a founding member of The Las Vegas Philharmonic and has been the Assistant Principal of the Bass Section since the orchestra’s inception in 1998. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Jazz Performance from Utah State University and a Master’s Degree in Classical Performance from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. His move to Las Vegas in 1996 was inspired by his teacher, Las Vegas Philharmonic’s Principal Bass Emeritus, Audrey Bush, with whom he studied and performed until her retirement in 2003. Since arriving in Las Vegas, he has been an active member of the music community and has played everything from casino lounges to long running Broadway hits like Mamma Mia and Phantom of the Opera. The Smith Center has become somewhat of a second home for him playing for not only The Las Vegas Philharmonic but also The Nevada Ballet Theatre, countless stars and dozens of Broadway touring shows. He started teaching at The College of Southern Nevada 1999 where he is currently a full time Professor of Music.
