Music Director Donato Cabrera hosts a panel discussion with Bella Hristova, Stewart Goodyear and Nancy November to talk about everything Beethoven, as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of this beloved composer.

Bella Hristova is a young violinist acclaimed for her passionate, powerful performances and compelling command of her instrument.  Her appearances with orchestras in recent seasons include the New York String Orchestra at Carnegie Hall, the Orchestra of St. Luke’s with Pinchas Zukerman at Lincoln Center, as well as orchestras in Asia, Europe, Latin America and New Zealand.  In 2017 she toured New Zealand, performing and recording Beethoven’s 10 Sonatas with renowned pianist Michael Houstoun.

Stewart Goodyear is an accomplished young pianist as a concerto soloist, chamber musician, recitalist and composer. He has performed with major orchestras including the Philadelphia Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, Chicago Symphony, San Francisco Symphony, Los Angeles Philharmonic, and Cleveland Orchestra.  Goodyear’s discography includes Beethoven’s Complete Piano Sonatas which received a Juno nomination for Best Classical Solo Recording in 2014.

Nancy November is an Associate Professor in musicology at The University of Auckland.  Combining interdisciplinary and cultural history, her research centers on chamber music of the late eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, probing questions of historiography, canonization, and genre. Recent publications include Beethoven’s Theatrical Quartets and Cultivating String Quartets in Beethoven’s Vienna.
