MUSIC IN THE CLASSROOM

Our 2024-2025 Music in the Classroom series brought a string quartet of Las Vegas Philharmonic musicians to provide chamber performances for over 500 students at Berkeley Bunker Elementary School, a Title-1 school with 90% minority enrollment. This outreach program allowed the students of Berkeley Bunker Elementary a chance to interact one-on-one with professional musicians and experience hands-on musical learning, including how to hold and pizzicato on a violin.

As part of our ongoing commitment to building a stronger connection with the local community, we also extended an invitation to 4th and 5th grade students from Berkeley Bunker Elementary School to attend our April 12th concert featuring Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5. This opportunity allowed them to experience a live performance by the Las Vegas Philharmonic, as well as an extension to their in-class experiences.
