Music Director Donato Cabrera interviewed special guest composers, Juan Pablo Contreras and Viet Cuong.
Juan Pablo Contreras is a Latin GRAMMY®-nominated composer and Universal Music recording artist who combines Western classical and Mexican folk music in a single soundscape. .Contreras has been commissioned to write a new orchestral work for the Las Vegas Philharmonic and five other orchestras as a part of the New Music USA’s Amplifying Voices program.
Viet Cuong is an award-winning American composer whose wildly inventive compositions have been performed by musicians and ensembles around the globe including Sō Percussion, Albany Symphony, Kaleidoscope Chamber Orchestra, Orchestra of St. Luke’s, Minnesota Orchestra, Jacksonville Symphony, and Dallas Winds.
