Schubert Overture to Rosamunde
Schumann Cello Concerto
Mendelssohn Symphony No. 4 (Italian)
Music Director Donato Cabrera leads the orchestra in its first-ever performance of Mendelssohn's joyous Fourth Symphony, known as the "Italian" symphony having been inspired by the composer's travel south to Italy. Schubert's charming Overture to Rosamunde opens the program and gold medal winner of the 2007 International Tchaikovsky Competition, Sergey Antonov, hailed as a “brilliant cellist” by Mstislav Rostropovich, performs Schumann's lyrical Cello Concerto.
